Following a robbery that occurred in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City yesterday afternoon, a suspect in the incident was later apprehended by police at a checkpoint in Silay City.
According to Police Station 4 (PS4) commander, Police Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla, the victim, Danilo Vicente, was robbed by riding-in-tandem suspects, identified as Joebert Tenguihanon, a resident of Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City; and Rommel Dema-ala, a resident of Barangay Cabahog, Cadiz City, around 3:00 p.m.
P17,000 was reportedly stolen from the victim.
Later that day, Tenguihanon was caught after evading a checkpoint at the Carmela Valley Subdivision in Silay City.
Following a short chase, the suspect was apprehended and, following a search, yielded a caliber .357 revolver and documents said to be related to his criminal activity.
Tenguihanon is currently being held by Silay City police in violation of RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
Meanwhile, police are still conducting a manhunt operation for Dema-ala, who is wanted for a string of other robberies in Bacolod City, Talisay City, and Silay City./WDJ
