Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, revealed all police stations in the province face the threat of attack by the New People’s Army (NPA).
This comes after rumors surfaced claiming rebels were planning an attack in Candoni earlier this week.
It was earlier reported, Nicholas Lachica, head of municipal rescue and emergency services, appealed for calm as the warning has yet to be verified.
In a phone patch interview with members of the media yesterday morning, Castil said all police forces are being reminded not to let their guards down.
The provincial director stated they have intensified security measures in light of the recent ambush in Guihulngan City last week, which claimed the lives of six cops and one civilian.
Police officials are also looking into the possibility the ambush was a setup./WDJ
