Local OFW group holds general assembly

The Bacolod City Overseas Filipino Workers Association (BACOFWA) recently held their first general assembly, electing officers (from left) Eldy Escobar, Lovelina Panganiban, Arline Pulao, Rolly Redil, Larry Occena, Georgenen Jocsing, Evelyn Donesa, Jiorlyn Montecastro, Rene Montelibano, Deborah Ponte, and Mary Ann Valderrama.

The Bacolod City Overseas Filipino Workers Association (BACOFWA) held its first general assembly at the old City Hall recently.
The association seeks to address issues and concerns pertaining to OFWs.
The group also elected officers during the meeting
Deborah Ponte was elected president; Rene Montelibano – vice president; Jiorlyn Montecastro – secretary; Evelyn Donesa – treasurer; Georgenen Jocsing – auditor; Larry Occena – public information officer; and Eldy Escobar, Lovelina Panganiban, Arlene Pulao, Rolly Redil, and Mary Ann Valderrama were named to the Board of Directors.
Also in attendance were Vice Mayor El Cid Familiar and City Councilors Renecito Novero and Bartolome Orola./WDJ
