A fisherman was killed in a shooting incident at his residence in Barangay Bulado, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, last Monday.
Police identified the fatality as Alberto Mission Tecson, 49, and a resident of the said residence.
Reports released by Guihulngan City police said the victim was inside his home when five unidentified suspects arrived.
One of the suspects reportedly called the victim, telling the victim he and his companions wanted to rent his pump boat.
When Tecson opened the door, one of the suspects opened fire and immediately fled.
Once the victim fell on the ground, the other suspects shot him several times, striking different parts of his body, killing him.
After the incident, the suspects walked north along the shore, while another fled on a motorcycle.
Responding Guihulngan City police, led by SP01 Benjamin Bandico, recovered three fired cartridges for a caliber .45 firearm and one slug.
The victim’s body is currently with the family as police conduct a follow-up investigation./WDJ
