Cadiz City police arrested 47-year-old Paquito Ollete after he was caught participating in an illegal numbers game at Purok Narra, Barangay Tinampa-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, last Monday.
The suspect, a resident of Hacienda Paz, in the said barangay, was caught writing a number combination and collecting bets and tally sheets.
A search of the suspect recovered one tipster; assorted papers with different number combinations; a mobile phone, which contained different number combinations in the message inbox; a pen; a sling bag; and P500 of suspected gambling proceeds.
Ollete is currently being held in violation of RA 9287, or the anti-illegal gambling act./WDJ
