Talisay City South Elementary School officials suspended classes after students complained of a foul odor, following a suspected chemical spill.
In a statement by the Talisay City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), nine students were rushed to the city’s health clinic after complaining of dizziness, vomiting, and stomach aches.
One parent also fainted due to the foul odor, to which its source is still being verified.
Eight students from another school were also rushed to the city’s clinic after complaining of similar symptoms.
The CDRRMO also confirmed the students were later released after doctors declared they were out of danger.
The office added, they are currently conducting an investigation as to where the foul odor originated./WDJ
