The Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6), in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) of Kalibo International Airport, conducted a customer service and work values seminar for drivers, operators, and transport personnel earlier this week.

According to DOT-6 director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas, those on the frontlines of the tourism industry must continue to lift the standard of service.

“Tourism is a fast-growing industry in Region 6,” she said. “It is only reasonable to raise the standard of service of frontliners in the area.”

“Our goal is to give our visitors an experience they will never forget so they will keep coming back,” Catalbas added.

Based on DOT-6 data, a total of 3,275 frontline personnel were trained in 2016, which include hotel personnel, boatmen, tour operators, tour guides, transport operators, vendors, concessionaires, tourism officers, site guides, among others./WDJ
