Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. said he is reconsidering the purchase of a six-seater turboprop aircraft, following appeals from Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Marañon said, although he is rethinking his decision, the deal is still open.

The vice governor, earlier on Wednesday, insisted the P50 million budget set aside for the purchase of the aircraft would be better used for other needs.

If ordered, the aircraft would have been used for agricultural and emergency purposes.

The P50 million budget was included in the 2017 general fund supplemental budget 2, amounting to a total of P191 million, which was approved two months ago by the Provincial Board./DGB, WDJ
