The Davao Aguilas FC are set to arrive in Bacolod City today, ahead of their Philippines Football League (PFL) clash with Ceres-Negros FC at the Panaad Park and Stadium this weekend.
Davao currently sits near the bottom of the league table, above last place Ilocos United FC, with both clubs seeking their first win. Earlier this month, the Negrense club smashed the latter, 7-0.
It was reported earlier this week, Ceres midfielder Jason de Jong officially left the club and signed with Davao. Other Ceres players, defender Simone Rota and midfielder Jorrel Aristorenas, also signed with this weekend’s opponents.
“If [Davao Aguilas FC] can process all of their requirements by the PFL, they might suit up and play against us,” said Ceres team manager James Dinsay.
Both clubs have yet to divulge details of the players’ release./JSG, WDJ
