A student was brought to a hospital Tuesday afternoon after he accidentally cut off his finger at Calatrava National High School, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Police have refused to identify the victim, but confirmed he is a resident of the said town.

Calatrava town police chief, Police Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, said the student allegedly tried to cut class and escape the school by climbing up the barbed wire fence.

However, the victim’s ring finger was hooked by one of the wires and, when he accidentally fell, his finger was severed.

Batusbatusan added, the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment following the incident./DGB, WDJ
