Two members of Project Dungganon were wounded by an unknown suspect while riding a motorcycle along Barangay Road in Barangay Baga-as, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, Monday morning.
Police identified the victims as Julie Barcoma, a community officer of Project Dungganon’s Hinigaran branch and resident of Barangay Pilar, Hinigaran; and Edgar Meñalie, 23, a loan officer of the same branch and resident of Barangay Camalobalo of the same town.
Hinigaran municipal police reported the victims were on a motorcycle, driven by Barcoma, when they were blocked by a person armed with a blunt object and a knife.
The suspect struck Barcoma, hitting her in the face and right shoulder.
When the victims fell to the ground, the lone suspect took Mañalie’s bag, which contained a notebook, calculator, record book, and a wallet containing P2,000 in cash.
Barcoma was sent to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for treatment.
Hinigaran police, meanwhile, have yet to identify the suspect as the victims said he was wearing a bonnet during the incident./MIS, WDJ
