The New People’s Army (NPA) Roselyn Pelle Command yesterday claimed responsibility for the killing of a former Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) commander Charlie Buli-buli in Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) earlier this month.

In a statement, Ka Cecil Estrella, spokesperson of the Roselyn Pelle Command, said Buli-buli was tagged as a legitimate target for execution because of “sins” he committed against the masses and the revolutionary movement.

Earlier, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) reported nine armed suspects shot and killed Buli-buli on July 8, 2017 at Sitio Agbalasyang, Barangay Bago, DSB.

He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot; his nephew, who was with him at the time, managed to escape unharmed.

Police recovered 13 empty shells of an M-16 assault rifle, two empty cartridges of an M203 grenade launcher, and spent shells from 9mm and.45 caliber pistols.

The NPA spokesperson added, Buli-buli was responsible for several cases of murder, land grabbing, and threatening farmers in the area.

The statement also accused Buli-buli of serving as an “armed goon” and gun-for-hire of the ruling dela Cruz clan of DSB.

Buli-buli was also reportedly responsible for the holdup of a resident in Barangay Bagonbon, San Carlos City. In 2005, P200,000 was robbed from a certain Botoy Palanas, the NPA statement said./DGB, WDJ
