The 463 Police Officer 1 (PO1) candidate recruits of Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) began formal training yesterday at Camp Alfredo Montelibano, Sr. in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, following an oath-taking ceremony.

PRO-18 director, Police Chief Superintendent Edmund Gonzales, told recruits to not only think about what lay ahead of them in their six-month training period, but about their responsibilities once they are full-fledged members of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The regional police chief noted, the hiring target was 700 this year and he is hoping more applicants show up in the coming months.

After completing their six-month basic training, the recruits will receive another six-month internship and scout training before being assigned under the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB-18)./DGB, WDJ
