As part of National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week, the Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) and the Special Education (SPED) Integrated School for Exceptional Children will be conducting a farm tour for special needs students on Friday, July 21.

“This small act of kindness will go a long way not only for these children but also for the tourism industry,” said DOT-6 director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas. “This will encourage our tourism establishments to make their facilities and amenities PWD (person with disabilities) friendly.”

The tour will immerse the students in outdoor activities, with hopes it will promote an environment that supports and enhances the children’s ability to play and develop.

Previously, DOT-6 conducted an orientation on tourism awareness and plans to host a future seminar on tourists with disabilities./WDJ
