Authorities recovered the remains of a missing teacher and motorcycle driver from the Himoga-an River after they accidentally fell into raging floodwaters and were swept away last Friday.
Police Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, Escalante City police chief, said they first recovered the remains of 23-year-old Rona Beleganio on Saturday morning.
Mansueto said Beleganio was found after a rescuer stumbled onto her remains, which were underwater.
Two hours after Beleganio’s remains were discovered, they recovered the remains of 58-year-old Clodualdo Abisamis 130 meters from where they fell in Barangay Bato, Sagay City.
Mansueto added, the remains will undergo autopsies in order to determine the injuries they sustained during their drowning./DGB, WDJ
