Negrense-born Marcus Hinojas will be representing National University (NU) at the 2017 Philippine Taekwondo League Tournament on July 16 and the 2017 Smart Nationals Taekwondo Championships from July 22 to 23.

Prior to joining NU early this year, Hinojas represented Talisay City and Hanah Taekwondo Negros, winning both national and international titles.

He was also named Smart Nationals Best Player in 2012.

Hinojas was recently granted financial assistance from Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III, where the mayor referred to him as an “inspiration” for aspiring taekwondo geup, or students, in the city./JSG, WDJ
