The primary suspect in the March 24, 2014 murder of a Dutch national in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City was arrested by police in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.
Police identified the suspect as Ricky Bonifacio.
Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, who presented the suspect to members of the media last Tuesday, said Bonifacio was responsible for the murder of Robertus Theodorus Maria Mons and Jacob Nicolaas Nap.
Wanky said Bonifacio was arrested along R. Vicencio Corner Shaw Boulevard by a joint operation by members of the Regional Intelligence Unit-National Capital Region (RIU-NCR) and the BCPO.
After Bonifacio was nabbed, police served him a warrant of arrest for the charge of murder and frustrated homicide, issued by Judge Rosario Esther Orda-Caise of the Bacolod City Regional Trial Court-Branch 48.
Wanky thanked the Bacolod City residents responsible for providing the information on Bonifacio’s whereabouts and appealed for their continued support in helping capture other wanted suspects./WDJ
