Manapla organizations form alliance focused on climate and disaster risk reduction Group provided P350K in first batch of ‘livelihood funding’

Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante lauded the Chambery Multi-Sectoral People’s Alliance (ChaMPA) for their contribution to local environmental and community development issues.
The group held elections at their founding assembly towards the end of last month and elected Chambery Small Fisherfolk Association (ChaSFA) President Luzviminda Diaros to lead the group.

Six Manapla-based organizations associated with the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM) recently formed an alliance called the Chambery Multi-Sectoral People’s Alliance (ChaMPA), focused on climate and disaster risk reduction.
The group held elections at their founding assembly towards the end of last month and elected Chambery Small Fisherfolk Association (ChaSFA) President Luzviminda Diaros to lead the group.
“We had seen the big impact to our purok when we organized ourselves,” said Samahan ng Maliliit na Mangingisda sa Chambery (SamMMCha) Chairperson Adonis Almohia.
Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante also lauded the groups for their contribution to local environmental and community development issues.
According to a press release, the group was also provided P350,000 from the Local Resiliency Action Plan (LRAP) and PRRM for the first batch of three organizations and their climate resilient and sustainable enterprises./WDJ
