The Bacolod City Land Transportation Office (LTO) plans to submit a proposal to the city government for closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to be installed along the city’s streets.
According to LTO-Bacolod head Renato Novero, it is difficult to apprehend violators of the Anti-Distracted Driving Act (ADDA), which was implemented last week, without cameras.
The local LTO chief said CCTV cameras can capture images of license plates, allowing them to trace vehicle owners.
He added, motorists are able to spot traffic enforcers, who are supposed to enforce city ordinances and laws, and can prepare before approaching them./WDJ
