Aftershock rocks parts of Negros

A 5.8-magnitude aftershock rocked parts of Negros, Monday morning.
According to data from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the aftershock struck shortly before 9:42 am, with an epicenter located 13 kilometers southeast of Ormoc City, Leyte.
The tremor was felt at Intensity II in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, while Intensity I was reported in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
Both readings are considered minimal on the Phivolcs Earthquake Intensity Scale (PEIS).
The aftershock was also followed by two other quakes, recorded at magnitudes of 3.6 and 3.2.
Last week, a 6.5-magnitude earthquake shook parts of the Visayas, destroying around 700 homes in Leyte.
The quake’s tremor was also felt in Negros, causing power outages in Bacolod City.
Around 200 people were injured due to the quake, while two people lost their lives./WDJ
