Man threatens to shoot neighbors in Cauayan

An intoxicated man was arrested by police after he threatened to shoot his neighbors at Purok 1, Barangay Mambugsay, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, Saturday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as 53-year-old Roger Tabat, a resident of the said barangay.
Reports from the Cauayan municipal police said a resident, identified as Vangie Matula, contacted them around 3:00 p.m. reporting Tabat threatened to kill her family and other neighbors.
Matula stated the suspect was brandishing a .45 caliber pistol and fired one shot in the air, prompting cops to rush to the area and arrest him.
Police confiscated the suspect’s .45 caliber pistol with six live bullets, a .45 caliber magazine with five bullets, and an empty .45 caliber shell.
Tabat faces charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and is detained at the Cauayan Municipal Police Station./WDJ
