Two men allegedly shot a drinking companion by accident at Hacienda Rosario Norte, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, Thursday evening.
Police identified the victim as 24-year-old Nathaniel Bonifacio, a resident of the said barangay.
Police Station 5 (PS5) commander, Police Chief Inspector Sherlock Granada, said authorities responded after a concerned resident reported Bonifacio was shot by 30-year-old Kenjie Villaranda and 28-year-old Kenneth Pactao-in.
An investigation revealed Pactao-in was inside the house having a drink with the victim and Villaranda when they accidentally fired an improvised 12-gauge shotgun, striking Bonifacio.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital after the incident, while police arrested Villaranda, who was allegedly carrying the improvised shotgun at the time.
