The Bacolod City government, led by the Urban Basic Services Division (UBSD) and the City Health Office, will be observing the 43rd Nutrition Month throughout the month of July.
Ruby Agravio of the UBSD said this year’s observance, under the theme “Healthy Diet, Gawing Habit for Life!” seeks to increase awareness of how a healthy diet can reduce obesity, prevent malnutrition, and prevent non-communicable disease.
Nutrition Month also aims to help the public distinguish between healthy and unhealthy food, encourage the food industry to produce and offer healthier food options, and advocate for the enactment of policies promoting an environment of healthy eating./WDJ
