A public utility vehicle (PUV) driver was killed after being stabbed at Sitio Cambajo, Barangay Bio-os, Amlan, Negros Oriental, Tuesday evening.
Police identified the fatality as 32-year-old Renebert Reyes, a resident of the said barangay.
Investigators from the Amlan municipal police said Reyes was reportedly drunk when engaged in an argument with the suspect, identified as Junrrie Rosario Estalante.
The argument escalated after Estalante allegedly pulled out a 17-inch long knife and stabbed Reyes several times, killing him on the spot.
Estalante later surrendered to police, where authorities recovered the 17-inch knife, along with an improvised .357 caliber revolver from the suspect.
Estalante is facing homicide charges and is presently detained at the Amlan Municipal Police Station./WDJ
