Everyone is talking about the situation in Marawi City, where thousands of our Muslim brothers have been forced to evacuate their city against their will. But how many, among the hundred million Filipinos, sympathize with these evacuees?
Help may come in trickles, but what is important is we, the lucky ones, take part in sharing what we have since we still have our homes, families, jobs, and belongings.
I thought of the tagline, “Lucky are we. So, let’s help Marawi.” I plan to use this during the Visayas Big Bikers event in Dumaguete City, which I am directing. The occasion, which takes place on the last weekend of July, expects to see big bikers donate money to be spent on medicine and vitamins, through the Knights of Columbus or Gideons International in Cagayan de Oro City.
Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Remollo will be co-hosting the event, a part of a sports and road tourism promotion by the Department of Tourism-Region VII (DOT-7).

President Rody Duterte has passed the first year of his six year term as leader of our nation. For the average citizen, they can see all that has been accomplished in just 12 months.
However, critics will continue to shut their eyes and claim he is not a “deserving” leader.
Many believe those grumbling today are just upset at their loss of influence and money.
Filipinos complain about what Digong is doing for the country, but nobody said a word about PNoy not doing much – it’s all politics.

I came up with the expression, “Discipline on the road is the mirror of one’s character.” If you brag about evading traffic laws, that is nothing to boast about – you should be ashamed of yourself.
Let us be law-abiding citizens.
