A 40-year-old man was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after he was shot during an argument in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, Sunday afternoon.
Police identified the victim as James Weber, a resident of East Homes 1 in the said barangay.
Police Station 4 (PS4) commander, Police Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla, said, based on their investigation, an argument erupted between Weber and the suspect, identified only as “Michael.”
Weber allegedly pulled out an improvised shotgun, which was grappled by Michael, who shot the victim in the leg.
Michael immediately fled while responding paramedics brought Weber to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH).
According to Bonilla, the victim may be suffering from a mental illness, as they also recovered several bladed weapons from Weber’s possession.
