Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, ordered a probe on a Bago City police officer accused of abusing his children.
The case was brought to the attention of NOPPO by Task Force Kasanag (TFK), who named Police Officer 3 (PO3) Norman Labrador in their allegations.
The group claims Gemma Guanzon, the children’s grandmother, is seeking custody, saying they are currently in a “pitiful state.” She has since filed a custody case, which is being heard before the Bago City Regional Trial Court.
The grandmother affirmed, following the death of their mother seven months ago, Labrador, who has a family apart from the two children, aged seven and nine, forcibly took the children and left them with “some people.”
Guanzon said she would like to see Labrador relieved from duty in order to prevent him from influencing the outcome of the case. She added Bago City police officers have not been present during the hearings.
Meanwhile, Castil said he forwarded the complaint to NOPPO’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD)./WDJ
