Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League BTTHS defeats CPU, advances to national finals

Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) recently defeated Central Philippine University (CPU) in the ongoing Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League (GVL) Western Visayas regional leg at the Iloilo Doctor’s College-College of Dentistry covered court, advancing to the national finals.
BTTHS won in five sets, coming back from being two sets down.
With the national finals set for October, according to BTTHS vice chair for sports Jose Montalbo, the team is looking forward to other warm-up events in preparation.
“We’re now ready for the Milo Little Olympics,” he said.
The event takes place from August 24 to 29 in Cebu City.
Suiting up for the team were Kiesha Bedonia, Alyssa Bertolano, Shane Carmona, Katherine Shane Cortez, Beatrice Decena, Joan Doguna, Joan Monares, Jeanny Padilla, Nohlin Jundana, Marixi Maligmat, Hannah Quanico, and Marianne Sotomil.
Meanwhile, the St. John’s Institute finished the tournament in third place, with the University of St. La Salle in fourth place./WDJ
