According to Department of Social Welfare and Development-Region VI (DSWD-6) Director Rebecca Geamala, there are currently no additional funds being released for survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda in Iloilo City, which struck the Philippines in 2013.
Her comments were in response to protesters claiming the regional department is holding the release of additional assistance.
Geamala explained DSWD-6 is still validating a list of survivors, said to number around 126,261.
She asked protesters for patience and understanding, pointing out funding from the Office of the President is approved by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and is transferred to Landbank before it arrives at the DSWD./WDJ
