Ceres-Negros FC won their fourth straight victory in the Philippines Football League (PFL) over the weekend at the Panaad Park and Stadium, beating Stallion Laguna FC in their second consecutive match, 5-2.
Ceres midfielder Stephan Schröck opened scoring in the 12th minute. The score was later doubled in the 25th minute with a goal from defender Jeffrey Christiaens.
The home club went into the half up 4-0, with goals from midfielder Iain Ramsay in the 29th minute and OJ Porteria in the 32nd minute.
The lead extended even further with striker Bienvenido Marañón converting a penalty and adding the fifth goal of the match in the 61st minute.
However, Ceres would go on to concede two goals, with Stallion forward Ruben Doctora scoring in the 77th minute and striker Terence Linatoc adding the second in the 81st minute.
“They worked hard in the first half,” said Ceres coach Risto Vidaković.
For Schröck, he believes there were some concentration issues in the second half.
“We had some lack of concentration,” he pointed out. “But I think it’s normal when you play at 4:00 p.m. in this heat.”
