Two were apprehended following a joint operation by members of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at Zone 4, Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City, Thursday noon.
Police arrested 39-year-old Amelito Jamon and 34-year-old Jinky Joven, both residents of the said barangay.
Dumaguete City Police chief, Police Superintendent Jovito Atanacio, said they had been monitoring both suspects for weeks and conducted a test buy operation in which the substance they purchased tested positive for shabu.
Following the test, Atanacio coordinated with PDEA agents to conduct the buy-bust operation against both suspects.
Police recovered a total of five plastic sachets of suspected shabu and the P500 marked money used for the operation.
Both Jamon and Joven are facing illegal drugs charges and are presently detained at the Dumaguete City Police Station./WDJ
