In response to recurring brownouts in Iloilo, Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. ordered three power distributors in the province, Iloilo Electric Cooperative, Inc (Ileco) I, 2, and 3, to address the power issues impacting Passi City and 24 towns throughout the province.
The respective general managers of the said utility co-ops said they would seek assistance from mayors and barangay officials in regards to physical obstructions.
Many of the power interruptions have been blamed on vegetation and trees obstructing power lines.
Meanwhile, the Iloilo Provincial Board will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
