Popular roleplaying game Ragnarok Online recently returned to the Philippines after taking a five-year hiatus.
The game returned following a “renaissance” in Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the game’s country of origin South Korea.
During a recent press conference and gamer meet-up at the 21 Restaurant, Electronics Extreme said the “pRO,” as it’s referred to locally, will be “far different” from its predecessor, which was run by LevelUp! Games Philippines.
The company also assured the relaunched game will be more customer service friendly, learning from its predecessor, who received poor reliability feedback from gamers.
Electronics Extreme is also committed to responsible gaming and may introduce a system in the near future where student gamers could be rewarded if they excel in the game while maintaining good grades in school.
The original game started in 2003 as the very first massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).
The event was also attended by pRO players from Bacolod City’s Steel Wolves guild, who became famous after winning the Ragnarok World Championships in 2006.
