A fire razed the house of a senior citizen at Purok Riverside, Barangay Nabulao, Sipalay City, late Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters identified the victim as 68-year-old Disocoro Torres, Jr., a resident of the said barangay.
Arson investigators from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said they received a call around 5:00 p.m. reporting a fire in progress.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and doused the flames until a fireout was declared around 6:40 p.m..
Investigators noted, Torres’ house is concrete on the ground floor, while the second floor was made of light materials.
Damage is assessed at P200,000.
Arson investigators have yet to conclude on the investigation, although an electrical short circuit is suspected to be the primary cause of the blaze./WDJ
