Dumaguete City police seized P59,000 worth of suspected shabu Wednesday afternoon after searching a high value target at Purok Punay, Barangay Pulantubig, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
Police identified the suspect as 55-year-old Rockwell Cabano, a resident of the said barangay.
Dumaguete City police said they conducted the joint operation with agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) after receiving a search warrant from Judge Gerardo Paguio, Jr. of the Dumaguete City Regional Trial Court.
According to authorities, Cabano is reportedly a member of a local drug group in the city.
The search yielded three sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Cabano is facing charges in violation of RA 9165, or the comprehensive dangerous drugs act of 2002, and is presently detained at the Dumaguete City Police Station./WDJ
