After earning qualification for the 2017 Senior League Softball World Series in Lower Sussex, Delaware in the United States, the Negros Occidental-based Philippine softball team is currently awaiting visas before leaving for the event, scheduled to take place from July 31 to August 6.
According to coach Antonio Oquindo, Jr., who revealed the athletes’ travel status yesterday, said the team still needs to train harder.
“We also need to play harder in this tournament [in order] to bring honor to our province and to the country,” he said.
Earlier this month, the team earned their place in the tournament after winning the 2017 Asia Pacific Softball Tournament in Singapore./WDJ
