According to Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco), Inc. General Manager Sulpicio Lagarde, Jr., President Rodrigo Duterte was officially invited to the upcoming Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (Philreca) national convention, scheduled to take place on August 2 at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod.
Lagarde added, there is no word yet if the president will be available for the event.
He also noted, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and Senator Sherwin Gatchalian were both invited, with the latter already confirming his attendance.
Ceneco, along with the Western Visayas Electric Cooperative Association and NIR Electric Cooperative Association, will be hosting this year’s convention.
“We are making sure that we improve our services,” said Lagarde.
He pointed out, the utility co-op has already created a technical working group in order to bring down the systems loss cap from 13 percent to 7.5 percent.
At present, Ceneco’s systems loss is 11.22 percent./WDJ
