According to Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson, Police Superintendent Noel Polines, despite an ongoing campaign against illegal drugs, the illicit trade continues in Bacolod City.
He pointed to the recent seizure of P2 million worth of shabu in Barangay Villamonte, along with a haul of P850,000 worth of illegal drugs in Barangay Taculing earlier this week.
Polines said the supply of drugs in the city has seen a huge cut but many are still selling and using the illegal substances.
He added, “high value targets” have already been neutralized, but the city is still dealing with “street value targets.”
Presently, the main sources of illegal drugs in the city are in Barangay 2, Barangay 31, and Barangay Villamonte, however, authorities have yet to determine where the supply originates from.
Meanwhile, Polines noted, San Carlos City and Dumaguete City remain the primary entry points for illegal drugs in the province./WDJ
