Police recorded two separate drowning incidents in Sagay City and Kabankalan City during feast of St. John the Baptist observances last Friday and Saturday.
Police identified the fatalities as Ramyl Carvajal, a resident of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental; and Rayden Sinfuego, 4-years-old, and resident of Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City.
An official report last Friday by the Kabankalan City Police said Sinfuego drowned after falling into a well.
When police interviewed the boy’s mother, it was discovered she had fallen asleep and did not realize that her child had left the house.
Cops noted, the well did not have any barricades or concrete rings surrounding it.
Meanwhile, the remains of Carvajal were discovered by the Sagay City Rescue Team around 12:30 p.m.
An investigation later revealed Carvajal was drinking before deciding to take a swim.
Heavily intoxicated, the victim was last seen entering an area around five feet deep before disappearing./WDJ
