Three people, including a minor, were arrested by members of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) following a buy-bust operation along Yakal Street, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, yesterday afternoon.
Police identified the suspects as 21-year-old John Jeryl Gemora, the main subject of the operation and resident of Barangay Alijis; and Johnrey Morales, 20, of Barangay 2.
Authorities refused to name the minor, although they confirmed he is also a resident of Barangay 2.
In an official report by CDEU chief, Police Chief Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, police managed to nab the three after they handed one sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P1,000.
After searching the suspects, authorities seized a total 200 grams worth of suspected shabu, valued around P2 million.
Following their arrest, the suspects claimed they were ordered to deliver the drugs to the buyer, who turned out to be an undercover cop.
They also admitted to being drug addicts, with the minor claiming to have started using shabu around the age of 13.
The two suspects are facing illegal drugs charges and are presently detained at Police Station 4. Police are also verifying the age of the minor and, if found to be of legal age, he could face criminal charges./WDJ
