A laborer was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday evening after he was stabbed by a colleague in Barangay Malingin, Bago City.
Police identified the victim as 45-year-old Roberto Orot, a resident of Purok Ipil-ipil, Barangay Malubon, Sagay City.
Bago City police said Orot, along with two companions, were heading back to their quarters after drinking when they were assaulted by two people.
Orot’s friends fled to seek help while the suspects repeatedly assaulted the victim.
A few minutes later their contractor, Nestor Pioquinto, arrived and pacified the two sides.
He later identified one of the suspects as Ronilo Fermiza Jr., who allegedly stabbed the victim.
Orot was rushed to Corazon Locsin Memorial Region Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City after sustaining several stab wounds on his body.
Bago City police, meanwhile, were dispatched but Fermiza and the other unidentified suspect managed to escape.
Police are still investigating the incident, while a hot pursuit operation is underway for the two suspects./WDJ
