Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia recently announced House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez said he would push to allocate funding for a study into a master development plan for Bacolod City in the 2018 Annual National Budget.
According to Leonardia, during a recent visit by the speaker to Bacolod City, the mayor expressed his desire for a masterplan for the city, to be drawn up by a professional urban planner, but noted the local government could not afford it and suggested the national government shoulder the costs.
He added, Alvarez said, when the process for the approval of the budget begins, the speaker will propose an allocation to fund studies into both Bacolod City and the Negros Island Region./WDJ
