The Negros Occidental Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday announced a calendar of activities for the October 17 barangay elections.
Comelec provincial supervisor, Atty. Jessie Suarez, said elections may still push through as the current law postponing the polls has not yet been approved.
The office already completed voter registration as of April 29.
However, Suarez said he thinks the barangay elections will not push through, adding it’s only the president who has the final say on the matter./WDJ
