Irene Montilla, widow of late Isabela Mayor Enrique Montilla, returned to her husband’s former constituency to celebrate Father’s Day and offered her appreciation to allies on the town council for endorsing her to fill a vacancy on the local legislature.
Among those she extended her appreciation to included Raffy Uy, Patrick Miguel Montilla, Rene Ituriaga, Rudy Fajardo, Dominador Vasquez, Jurry Valencia, and ABC President Sarry Sarimong.
“The gesture itself is already enough for me,” she said.
Montilla, a physician by training, is a member of the prominent Consunji clan and is rumored to be eyeing a run for mayor in 2019.
She also reflected on her late husband, saying, “His memories live on in our hearts.”
“I know he is enjoying eternal life now as we always pray,” she added.
