Contrary to statements made by Bacolod Bulk Water Incorporated (BBWI), the Office of Building Official (OBO) said yesterday the consortium has not yet been issued the required building permits to proceed with their planned construction activities.
OBO head, Engr. Isidro Sun, said the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) granted the firm a resolution of no objection (RONO) during the council’s session on Tuesday but he has yet to receive the legislative document. RONO is in compliance with City Ordinance 335, which is one of the requirements in securing a building permit with OBO, he noted.
BBWI is the contractor of the Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) who had previously requested the SP for a RONO to start construction of a water treatment plant and intake structure in Barangay Granada.
Earlier, Sun said he issued a Notice of Violation to BBWI and the stoppage of the construction work in Barangay Granada as there were no building permits issued.
BBWI, for their part, insist they already secured the required papers to proceed with the construction./WDJ
