According to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, the hotels, pension houses, and inns of the city are all fully booked due to the ongoing Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) conference, which is taking place at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod until tomorrow, June 16.
The mayor said there are around 3,046 to 3,048 available rooms in the city, which can accommodate around 6,000 visitors if divided into two people per room.
He also offered the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) for temporary accommodations if necessary, as there are around 17,000 councilors nationwide.
Leonardia hopes the Seda Hotel, due to open prior to this year’s MassKara Festival, would help in reducing the problem of hotel accommodations in the city./WDJ
