Bacolod City-based watchdog group Water Watch Advocates (WWA) recently penned a letter to the Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) seeking clarification on their P537 loan from the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) in 2002.
“Numerous complaints of inefficiency and lack of adequate water supply have been hurled against Baciwa,” said WWA Secretary-General Wennie Sancho. “Consumers deserve to know how the P537 million was spent.”
He claimed his group requested a meeting with Baciwa leadership.
Sancho also furnished a copy of the letter to John Chiong, national commander of Task Force Kasanag.
Chiong, meanwhile, said they will ask the Office of the President to probe the issue, adding, the loan queries must be answered by both the LWUA and Baciwa./WDJ
