Aston ‘Mighty’ Palicte of Bago City knocked out former WBO Oriental super flyweight champion John Mark ‘Iceman’ Apolinario in the eighth round of their non-title bout in the “Brawl at the Mall: The Homecoming” at the Robinsons Mall Atrium in General Santos City over the weekend.
The win marks the fourth straight victory for the WBO Inter-Continental and North American Boxing Federation super flyweight champion, following a split decision loss to Mexico’s Junior Granados in March 2016.
It is also his second straight knockout victory after beating Vergilio Silvano last year to win the IBF Pan Pacific super flyweight title./WDJ
