Daniel Coo of the St. John’s Institute was named Visayas Most Outstanding Player in the Elite 60 Development Camp U16 category at the Colegio de San Agustin gym in Makati City.
“I am very proud of the achievement,” said Coo’s father, Daniel. “I hope this will encourage him to train seriously.”
He noted, his son was also called up to represent the Philippines in the 9th ASEAN School Game, which takes place in Singapore from July 13 to 21.
Coo was one of the 60 basketball players from across the country selected to participate.
Camp director and former Philippine national youth team coach Eric Altamirano said the camp was designed to identify young talents.
“The EDC program is designed to give others a chance to be seen when they otherwise would not be noticed,” he said. “This program will enhance our national teams and provide opportunities.”/WDJ
