Suspended Iloilo Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Soledad Sucaldito may face dismissal after Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. approved such action after the investigation team found enough evidence against the government official.
Sucaldito was recently found guilty in three administrative cases regarding grave misconduct, gross negligence, and simple negligence.
Last year, quarry operators Aires Octaviano and Ireneo Grabato reported Sucaldito refused to issue delivery receipts for their quarry operations in Alimodian. They claimed the non-issuance was without legal basis and it affected their business operations.
Quarry operator Genghis Ferrer also claimed Sucaldito has been engaged in bribery, in particular, favoring certain quarry operators.
According to chief provincial legal counsel, Atty. Dennis Ventilacion, Sucaldito can still appeal her case before she is dismissed./WDJ
